“I would like to thank my family, cousins, and uncles, thank you so much for everything especially for the support na palagi niyong binibigay sa akin,” said when asked who is his number one supporter.

Vince Ontal is not the average kid in terms of height being a point guard. But this kid is more experienced than a 6-footer baller.

Ontal is one of the “Batang Palaro” from Kidapawan. A multi-awarded guard on his elementary days. He always competes with the tallest ballers in town yet he managed to be part of Palarong Regional.

Reginald Ching of JMC Kings is one of his former teammates during Palaro.

Questions have been circulated during Palaro when he was excluded from Region 12. But life must go on.

After his elementary stint coach Sherwin Curutan send him to Davao City to play for coach Rolando Sancho, former ACD Warriors head coach.

“Thank you to Coach Sherwin for helping me when I entered my basketball journey. Thank you for the time, effort, patience, and the skills that he has taught me. He helped me to become a better player,” said 5-foot-7 guard.

Before he entered his senior high school, Vince gave a championship to ACD, a DACS 3×3 Basketball.

“Coach Rollie and Coach Tristan instilled in our minds that basketball is not learned hastily, especially in disciplining us inside the court and our practices that we can bring everywhere.”

Vince Ontal decided to continue his senior high with ACD and will be taking up HUMSS as his strand. He will be playing for Junior Warriors and chose to stay with coach Aguilon.

”Gusto ko talaga tapusin yung grade 10 kaya nag stay ako sa ACD, factor na din siguro yung adjustment and decision nadin ng magulang. Coach Josh gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent for ACD. Kaya maglalaro pa ako para kay coach at sa school ko.”
